For the multimodal podcast I chose to do theories of child development. Quite frankly I was rather bored with the motorcycle safety idea, an idea can only temporarily keep my interest. The audience I chose for this work was anyone who was planning on becoming a parent as well as new parents, even parents who already have children could find an interest in this piece because they are able to see how their children have already grown and help to give advise to new parents. Although my podcast slide show is almost 2 minutes over time, I think that is the aspect of this project that I am most proud of. I feel that there is no logical way to make it shorter without possibly taking out important vital information. I believe that in that 6 minutes and 40 seconds there is a lot to learn.
I believe that if I had more time I would have tried to include more about development of children, seeing as though child development is such a vast category to talk about. I would have liked to research how different family settings affect a child's development. Like for those children who have had to deal with divorce, loss of a parent or guardian, or those who were adopted. Or I would have liked to take a look at what some developmental abnormalities are and how they progress. I feel that if we had more time to work on this project there could have been a lot more into my webtext.
I chose the links for parent awareness and planning purposes. I felt that the preparing for teen years was adequate because those years are inevitable and cannot just be skipped over for a parent. I looked at my extra readings as what would I like to have as a parent all in one page about child development to help me to answer any questions I may have. Questions I wish could have had answered to help others out. I believe that my multimodal webtext can answer just about any question one might have and if the articles I chose cannot help then the sites that I got them from can at least lead someone in the right direction.
All in all I am satisfied with the way my webtext turned out. I don't have many worries for the way that it is written, except for those that are grammatical. I believe that I touched on all of the requirements for the project. If I had been more technically inclined or had more access to a computer with these programs on them then I could have had a more visually interesting page.

podcast reflection
My podcast is about the injuries that someone could get if they ride a motorcycle without proper safety equipment on. I believe that it gets the point across very well with the needed visual images that the listener would need to be aware of all of the risks. I feel very confident with my podcast that everything for the script was written well with very few errors. Although, I believe that the recording itself could have been better. Really other than that I believe that it is a good podcast even with all the issues I had with audacity and the dreamweaver programs.

My Podcast
I plan on Podcasting on the consequences of riding a motorcycle unsafely. I realize that I didn't specify which direction I was going to be taking, I plan on specifically talking about head and brain injuries. I will probably touch on all other areas that can become affected in the event of a crash, but the head injuries will be where my focus is. I believe that even if someone has an accident on a bike, but they only hurt their leg or arm or something they'll still be able to function in most activities of daily living, but if they were to have a head, neck, or spinal chord injury the outcome can be more traumatic.
I want to inform the listener of the most problematic outcomes of riding a motorcycle unsafely. There are many statistics that will help me prove my point, and there are many doctors or anyone in the medical field that will have written journal articles on why safety should be number one on someone's priority when riding a motorcycle.

Reflection
I did my webtext on motorcycle safety, with my main focus on what to wear and about the classes a rider can take. I figured that it was a good idea because many young adults are interested in riding motorcycles, especially crotch rockets. I guess I figured that what I learned from my personal experience would be valuble information to others. I made my page as user friendly as possible, and chose colors that wouldn't make it hard for the reader to read. I chose to put a stunting video in it because many people do stunts, which is fine and all when they are doing it in a safe enviornment. I chose that video to show that its not hard or uncool to be safe, and some of the riders aren't safe in the video. It gives the reader a chance to think well what could happen to that rider? I believe that my webtext gets its point across and doesn't try to discourage the reader away from riding motorcycles, instead it encourages them to take proper safety precautions. Although I feel it is written well, I think there is more I could have done in order to make it look fancier. I just don't understand DreamWeaver that well.

for the podcast
I think for the podcast i will start turning what happens to riders when they don't take proper safety precautions, because I feel that motorcycle safety won't be able to keep my attention long enough for the remainder of the semester. I believe that eventually would like to talk about child development, like cognative and physical. I live with my boyfriend and his 4 year old, so the development of a child interests me.

Moving along
So, the webtext is moving along. I mostly have information on the different types of protective equipment that riders should be wearing while riding. I'm probably going to talk about the classes that are available in this area, and what other drivers on the road should look out for when its motorcycle season. Luckily I have found almost everything I need, and all I have left to do is finish typing out.
Mostly during my meeting I'll want to talk about how and what to do to organize everything to make it flow, and have all my concerns with dreamweaver taken care of. I'm not too familiar with it so i need all the help I can get.

webtext proposal
My webtext proposal was on motorcycle safety. I plan on telling people about what options for safety classes there are, what the proper safety equptment would be, and what states require riders to wear helmets. I got my idea from personal experience from my boyfriend trying to do stunts on his bike and crashing it.

In class reading
I read something about technology in class. I found it rather boring and not interesting. For my wedtext I may want to write about competative cheerleading, motorcycle safety, or diving.
