for the podcast
I think for the podcast i will start turning what happens to riders when they don't take proper safety precautions, because I feel that motorcycle safety won't be able to keep my attention long enough for the remainder of the semester. I believe that eventually would like to talk about child development, like cognative and physical. I live with my boyfriend and his 4 year old, so the development of a child interests me.

Well, there might be a way you could segue into a topic about development...it might be a stretch but motorcycle accidents which affect brains are the topic involved in child development...right? *wink wink*...haha I'm sure you can come up with a connection to get to your topic of choice somehow!
It would be rather hard to logically go from motorcycle safety to cognative development in children. You may want to do something along the lines of child safety with motorcycles (both when the child is riding and riding around children).
